Our special Easter programme contains a prayer, four antiphons and a lullaby by Bottegari, Monferrato, Rigatti, Caccini and Monteverdi, all referring to the Annunciation to the Blessed Virgin Mary. We also constructed a short meditation on the Passion of Christ, from eight of J.S Bach’s arias in the Schemelli Gesangbuch. Lastly, as Easter coincides with the wine harvest in South Africa, we include some songs on the eternal cycles of life and love by Italian Renaissance composers.
